Yes—and the field is growing.
While more research is needed, early studies show promising results for sound-based therapies in reducing stress, supporting the nervous system, and improving emotional well-being.

While modern research is catching up, the use of sound in healing practices dates back thousands of years—across cultures, traditions, and continents. From chants and mantras to drums and crystal bowls, sound has long been a tool for connection, balance, and transformation.
Sound healing is not a replacement for medical treatment—but it can be a powerful complement. And many people describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more grounded after even one session.

Each sound bath experience is unique—because you are. There’s nothing you need to change, understand, or wish was different. However you feel is exactly right.
The sounds are never played the same way twice, and your body and energy are different each time you arrive. That’s why no two experiences are alike.
That said, here’s a glimpse into what some people commonly notice:
🌀 Physically
You may feel deeply relaxed, heavy and grounded, or even light and floaty. Some people experience gentle tingling, waves of energy, or a sense of rest they haven’t felt in a long time.💗 Emotionally
Sound can stir what’s been stored—offering calm, clarity, or unexpected emotion. You might feel peaceful, or you might find yourself with a tear rolling down your cheek without knowing why. Both are welcome.🌿 Spiritually or Energetically
You may feel a greater sense of connection—whether to yourself, to something greater, or to a deep inner knowing. Some describe a feeling of coming home to themselves, or being reminded of their purpose and presence in this world. There’s no right way to experience a sound bath. However it meets you is enough.

Imagine an orchestra where every instrument is playing a different tune. It’s chaotic, overwhelming, and hard to focus. That’s what life can feel like when your mind, body, spirit and emotions are out of sync.
Now imagine that same orchestra playing a shared melody—each instrument in harmony, each note flowing with purpose. There’s rhythm, order, and ease.
Your nervous system works the same way.
Sound has the power to help you re-tune—supporting your mind, body, and soul in finding coherence, flow, and calm. You don’t have to fully understand how it works to benefit from it.
Come experience it for yourself—you might be surprised by what shifts. -
For most people, sound healing is a gentle and safe experience that promotes deep rest, relaxation, and nervous system regulation. That said, as with any wellness modality, there are a few considerations.
Sound baths may not be recommended for individuals with:
Seizure disorders (especially sound-induced epilepsy), as certain frequencies may be triggering.
Severe mental health conditions (such as active psychosis or untreated schizophrenia), where internal sensory experiences may be destabilizing.
Auditory sensitivities or conditions like tinnitus, which may require modifications.
Pregnancy (in the first trimester)—while sound healing is generally safe, lying on your back for long periods or unexpected emotional release may be overwhelming early on. Please consult with your care provider.
If you have concerns or a complex health history, reach out before attending—sessions can often be modified to ensure safety and comfort. Your well-being comes first, always.

In most cases, yes—but with a few considerations.
Sound is a natural part of life—your baby already hears the rhythm of your heartbeat, your breath, your voice. A sound bath simply offers another layer of calm, vibration, and connection.
That said, if you're in your first trimester, have a high-risk pregnancy, or are nearing your due date, it's best to check with your care provider first. Everyone’s journey is unique, and your comfort matters most.
At AmaSoma, we’re happy to modify your experience—whether that means lying on your side, sitting upright, or simply resting further from the sound. You’re welcome here.
Let’s make this a safe, soothing space for you and your baby.
