FAQs

  • Warm Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative class that uses long-held, passive stretches to target your body’s deep connective tissues—like fascia, ligaments, and joints. Rather than working the muscles, this practice supports mobility, joint health, and circulation over time.

The room is gently heated to 80–90°F using far infrared heat, which helps your body soften, relax, and release tension without feeling overly hot or intense.

    Physical benefits may include:

    • Increased flexibility and joint mobility

    • Improved circulation and lymphatic flow

    • Reduced muscular tension and chronic holding

    • Support for healthy fascia and connective tissue hydration

    Nervous system benefits:

    • Activates the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) response

    • Helps regulate stress and overwhelm

    • Encourages deeper mind-body awareness and presence

    • Promotes emotional release and nervous system healing

This class is ideal if you’re seeking calm, balance, and a deeper connection to your body.

It’s not about how deep you go—it’s about how deeply you listen.

  • Gentle Yoga is a slow, supportive class that focuses on accessible movement, intentional breath, and nervous system regulation. With a focus on ease and adaptability, this practice is perfect for beginners, those returning to movement, or anyone needing a softer approach to yoga.

Each class weaves together breath awareness, mindful transitions, gentle strengthening, and stretches that nourish your body without pushing it past its limits. Props and modifications are always offered to meet you where you are.

Gentle doesn’t always mean easy—challenges are offered at various levels to help you safely explore movement and access poses that support your physical body in a way that feels right for you.

    Physical benefits may include:

    • Increased flexibility and joint range of motion

    • Improved posture and circulation

    • Enhanced balance and gentle core strength

  • At AmaSoma, many of our yoga and movement classes are offered in a gently heated space using far infrared (FIR) heat. Unlike traditional forced-air systems, FIR warms objects and bodies directly—similar to how sunlight feels on your skin. It’s a deep, radiant warmth that supports both physical comfort and nervous system regulation.

    Why heated classes?

The intentional use of heat creates a calming and supportive environment that helps you:

    • Move with greater ease, as muscles and fascia become more pliable

    • Release built-up tension

    • Improve circulation and lymphatic flow

    • Calm the nervous system, supporting regulation and emotional balance

    • Deepen awareness of breath, sensation, and body cues

    • Increases heart rate without having to increase intensity or joint impact.

At AmaSoma, our infrared-heated studio typically ranges from 85–98°F (29–37°C), depending on the class.

    Classes offered with heat include:

    • Warm Yin

    • Warm Slow Flow

    • SoulFit (which includes Pilates-based movement and interval training)

    • Hot Yoga 94-98.

    A few gentle reminders:

    • Hydrate well before and after class

    • If you’re pregnant, managing a health condition, or new to heated classes, please consult your healthcare provider or reach out to us with questions

    • You’re always encouraged to honor your body—rest, pause, or modify as needed

Whether you’re seeking deeper flexibility, pain relief, or simply a grounded, nurturing space to land, our heated classes are here to support you—with warmth, not intensity.

  • Hot Yoga at AmaSoma is a consistent, grounding practice that welcomes all levels.

Each class follows a familiar sequence of 26 postures, designed to strengthen, stretch, and stabilize the body. The sequence is repeated in each class, allowing you to build confidence, track progress, and deepen your mind-body connection over time.

Classes are offered in infrared heat between 90–98°F, creating a warm environment to support your movement and breath.

You don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or in peak shape to begin—just come as you are. Variations and options are always available to meet you where you’re at.

If you’re unsure if Hot Yoga is right for you or have health considerations, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help guide you to a class that feels supportive.

  • Honestly? No one. Yoga is for everyBODY.

That said, it’s all about finding the style and pace of practice that meets you where you are—physically, emotionally, and in life. Sometimes we need to slow down and soften. Other times, we need a little fire to move forward.

If you have specific health concerns, recent injuries, or medical conditions, it’s always wise to check in with your healthcare provider before starting a new practice.

⚠️ Pregnancy Note: With the exception of Warm Yin Yoga, our heated classes are not recommended during pregnancy. But don’t worry—we’ve got you. We offer private, supportive options tailored just for this season of life. Reach out to learn more.
